What we collect

Photo Snap Calorie Counter does not require an account. Your goals, meal logs, water and weight entries, and history are stored only on your device (browser storage). Clearing app data or using “Clear all local data” deletes them.

Meal photos

When you analyze a photo, a compressed copy is sent over HTTPS to our server and to an AI vision provider (Google Gemini) solely to identify foods and estimate nutrition. We do not keep your photos, use them for advertising, or sell them. The AI provider processes them under its own API terms.

Voice logging

When you log a meal by voice, speech recognition is done by your device or browser (for example Google speech services in Chrome on Android). We never receive your audio. The resulting meal text is sent to our server and to Google Gemini only to estimate nutrition, and is not stored.

Barcode scanning

The camera viewfinder for barcodes is processed on your device and no video is uploaded. The barcode number is sent through our server to Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org) to look up the product.

Ask the AI

When you ask a question, the question plus your goals and today's totals (calories, macros, water) are sent to our server and to Google Gemini to generate an answer. We do not store them.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. We do not receive your payment card details.

Analytics & ads

No ads and no third-party analytics trackers.

Children

Photo Snap Calorie Counter is not directed at children under 13.
